Starting
from the website of the Bank of Greece, which has been continuously
taken down on 2 May, Anonymous declared a 30-day war on banking
cartels. From the transcript of the youtube
video:
Olympus
will fall. How fitting that Icarus found his way back to Greece.
Greetings world, and greetings Global Banking Cartel, We are
Anonymous.
A few
days ago, we declared the revival of Operation Icarus. Today,
Operation Icarus has moved into the next Phase. For today, we have
continuously taken down the website of the Bank of Greece. This
marks the start, of a 30 days campaign, against central banking
sites around the globe.
Like
Icarus, the powers that be have flown too close to the sun, and
the time has come to set the wings of their empire ablaze, and
watch the system their power relies on come to a grinding halt and
come crashing down around them. We must strike at the heart of
their empire by once again throw a wrench into the machine, but
this time we face a much bigger target - the global financial
system. This time our target is the Global Banking Cartel.
This is a
call to arms, brothers, who for too long have stood for nothing
but have criticized everything. Stand now, behind the banner of
free men against the tyrannical matrix of institutions that oppose
us. Take your weapons and aim them at the Global Banking Cartel.
This is the operation to end all others. In the beginning some
people may stand to lose something from this, but the powers that
be stand to lose much more. Bring the rain, brothers!
Operation Icarus, Phase 2, Engaged.

A few info
about the dirty role of the Bank of Greece (BoG) in the Greek crisis
could probably enlighten us why the Anonymous have chosen the BoG to
start the war on the global banking cartel:
In a
previous article, already
mentioned by this blog that the Bank of Greece is totally beyond the
state control and therefore it is totally unreliable to serve
country's interests. It has been mentioned also that a key move by
the Greek government would be to take full control of the central
bank.
It is worth
to notice that under "Socialist" PM Kostas Simitis, Greece
entered the neoliberal era of banking lending and bubble economy. He
and his "close group" in the government are remembered as
the "modernizers", and this period marked the beginning of
transformation of the Socialist party into a neoliberal political
formation. In essence, "modernization" was the word that
had been used instead of "neoliberalism".
It is also worth to notice that Yannis Stournaras,
former Minister of Finance and current Governor of the Bank of
Greece, who has been the most willing to adopt the destructive
neoliberal policies that the Troika lenders imposed to Greece, has
also worked as a financial advisor to the Greek Ministry of Finance,
participating in the negotiations for Greece's entry into the
European Monetary Union, under Simitis administration.
Also, Alexis
Tsipras, as an opposition leader in the recent past, described Yannis
Stournaras as "the main executor of the death contract against
Greek society and Greek citizens", while SYRIZA had tabled a
motion of no-confidence in Stournaras during his previous position as
Finance Minister. (fa.ev/2014/03/bmonc)
Note also
that Stournaras has been placed in his position as Governor of the
Bank of Greece already since June 2014, while the political system in
Greece was preparing for possible national elections, with SYRIZA
ahead in all polls.. (fa.ev/2014/06/grhfne)
Everything
shows that Stournaras is Berlin's and Draghi's man in Greece. He has
been put in this key position at the right time in order to undermine
any possible Leftist government in power (fa.ev/2015/03/tsecof)
which would choose to stand against any further catastrophic policies
imposed by Greece's lenders, marking the beginning of the end for the
cruel neoliberal experiment in the country.
Also:
A secret
project called "protection of the country's currency" for
Greece to stay in the euro was compiled and quietly executed by the
President of Greece, Prokopis Pavlopoulos, and the governor of the
Bank of Greece, Yannis Stournaras, at the same time when Yanis
Varoufakis and SYRIZA's Left
Platform planned to return
to drachma. According to the newspaper "to vima" in the
project also participated Hollande, Juncker, Draghi and Schulz.
